Simple Stir-Fried Onions

Sometimes a simple item gives the greatest satisfaction. This side dish becomes more delectable because of just one aromatic and healthy spice.

Ingredients

  • 2 Onions Sliced (thick slices, see picture)
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cilantro finely chopped, optional

Instructions

  1. Place non-stick fry pan on medium heat.

  2. Add oil. When oil is hot, add cumin seeds. Stir fry for a minute, until cumin seeds are slightly fried.

  3. Set the heat to low. Add the onions and salt.

  4. Stir fry and cook for 5 minutes, or until onions are cooked but firm. Do not overcook or let the onions become brown.

  5. You can add a tablespoon of chopped cilantro and mix well.

  6. Serve hot as a side dish, or in a sandwich.
