Yummy Chunky Guacamole

Guacamole is usually mashed and mild. But if you like it a little chunky, hot and spicy, this recipe may satisfy you. It is really very easy to make, and delicious as a side dish.

  • 2 Ripe Avocado (pitted, peeled, cut into small chunks or finely chopped)
  • 1 - 2 Ripe Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Onion (red onion, finely chopped or minced)
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice (or lime juice)
  • 1/2 cup Salsa (mild, medium or hot)


  • 1/4 Serrano Pepper (a small piece, finely chopped)
  • 1 dash Black Pepper (freshly grated)


Step 1

Place the chopped/minced avocado in a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and lemon juice. Mix well.

Add the tomatoes.

Add the salsa. Mix well.

Add the cilantro and onions. Add 1/4 cups of chopped cilantro first. If you like, add more.
Step 5

If you like it hot, add the chopped serrano chili pepper. Start with 1/4 of the chili pepper, finely chopped. Add the black pepper too. If you like it mild, skip the peppers. Mix well.

Step 6
Taste and check if there is enough salt. Add a little more, if you like. Mix thoroughly.
Step 7
Serve fresh at room temperature.
