Ingredients
- 1 Large Cut green beans (frozen package)
- 1 Package Black-eyed peas (frozen package)
- 1 - 2 Red Chili pepper (dried)
- 1 teaspoon Urad dahl
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Optional
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
Directions

Place a frying plan on medium heat. Add oil. When oil is hot, add mustard seeds, red chilies and urad dahl. | |

When mustard seeds crackle rapidly, add cumin seeds and stir using a flat spatula. | |

Add the black-eyed peas. Add 1/2 cup water, turmeric, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cover and cook until black-eyes peas are cooked but firm. Keep stirring the peas every minute or too. Do not let the peas burn. Add more water, if necessary. | |

Add the frozen string beans. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well. Cook for 5 minutes or until the string beans are cooked but firm. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice, if you like, and mix well. | |

Remove the chillies. Serve hot. |
