Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Celery Sticks (washed, trimmed and cut into chunks (peeling optional))
  • 1 Green Chilli (Serrano Pepper)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 tablespoons Olive Oil (or other cooking oil)

Optional

  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
  • Curry Leaves (Kadi patta, a few leaves)

Directions

Step 1
Add oil to a fry pan on medium heat.
Step 2
When oil is hot, add cumin seeds. Stir fry a little, for a minute or so.
Step 3
Cut the green chilli into small pieces. Or slice it lengthwise into two. Or make a thin 1 inch slit in the green chilli.
Step 4
When cumin seeds crackle a little, or look slightly fried, add the green chilli. Stir fry until the chilli looks slightly fried.
Step 5
Add the celery chunks and half a teaspoon salt. Celery will not absorb salt too much. So add salt little by little to taste. Add the turmeric and the curry leaves, if you like.
